Eden’s Trust can deliver training for professionals in schools as well as one to one support for students. Our specialist training is aimed at helping professionals support bereaved children, young people and families. The training will be flexible and designed to meet the particular needs of your school.
The training will be delivered by fully qualified counsellors and psychotherapists and co-ordinated by one of our Trustees who has extensive experience of working in a range of educational settings.
An initial planning meeting will take place with your school to identify your training needs and we will deliver a programme to meet your specific requirements. We aim to equip professionals with the tools to understand how grief affects a young person and how to provide the best response and support in school for a student who has suffered a loss. Bereavement can manifest itself in different signs and symptoms and it is often difficult to know what to say to a young person to acknowledge their loss.
We aim to enhance staff confidence in dealing with bereavement, affirm the skills which are already present in the school community and highlight the importance of staff’s own welfare. A list of useful resources will be provided in our information pack.
